Ediphy Consult

Strategic fixed-income advisory,
grounded in building it.

The Ediphy Consult team combines regulatory fluency, deep trading-system expertise, and operating credibility.

Why advice from operators

Best-execution, supervisory expectations, and where advisory firms consistently fall short.

A decade after the FCA's thematic review, the supervisory bar on best-execution, surveillance, and operational resilience has moved up, and the firms most exposed are the ones whose advisers have never built the systems the rules describe.

Ediphy Consult addresses that directly: a senior team that has designed and built institutional trading and data infrastructure, managed-services partner for fairCT, the ESMA-selected bond consolidated tape, advising on the regimes it operates within.

REGULATOR VIEW

Our review identifies a significant risk that best execution is not being delivered to all clients on a consistent basis.

What is Ediphy Consult

Advice from people who build the systems.

Most fixed-income advisory work is delivered by firms whose people have never designed, built, or operated the infrastructure the advice describes. The result is recommendations that do not survive integration reality: architectures built around slide logic, regulatory roadmaps that interpret rules without understanding the systems, and vendor shortlists shaped by relationships rather than technical merit.

Ediphy Consult is the inverse. The team combines ex global heads of trading and sales, ex-trading-desk principals, ex-regulator perspective, and senior engineers from the team that built the Ediphy platform, managed-services partner for fairCT, the ESMA-selected bond consolidated tape.

That operator credibility runs through every engagement: advice the firm can build against, delivered by the people who have built comparable systems in production.

  • 01 Initial conversationThirty-minute call with the senior leads. Frame the problem, assess fit, no lengthy procurement formality.
  • 02 Terms of referenceA written ToR document with a defined deliverable, timeline, and commercial structure. The senior leads are named in it.
  • 03 Engagement modelMatch to one of four shapes: assessment, advisory, implementation, retainer.
  • 04 Senior leads namedThe people who run the work are named in the ToR. Staffing is fixed at agreement and named in the ToR.
  • 05 Deliverable definedEvery engagement carries a written artefact the firm owns outright.
  • 06 Continuity optionalWhere useful, the same leads continue on retainer or as the technical leadership on a follow-on programme.
Engagement models

Four ways to engage.

Consult work breaks into four engagement models, matched to the shape of the problem, from one-off assessments through to ongoing senior access on retainer.

CONSULT

Regulatory Advisory

MiFIR, MiFID II, MAR, DORA. Regulatory advice informed by operating the infrastructure the rules describe, gap analysis, remediation roadmap, cross-border navigation.

MIFIR · MAR · DORA

CONSULT

Independent Assessment

Structured diagnostic of trading systems, risk infrastructure, data quality, and regulatory posture. Scored gap analysis and prioritised remediation plan.

DIAGNOSTIC · SCORED

CONSULT

Implementation & Transformation

Architecture through delivery. Target-state design, vendor selection, programme governance, and post-go-live stabilisation, senior, opinionated, production-minded.

ARCHITECTURE · DELIVERY

CONSULT

Retainer Advisory

Ongoing access to named senior leads. Regulatory horizon scanning, technical review, board-level input, and ad-hoc problem solving, on a monthly hours pool.

ONGOING · SENIOR

How we engage

Independent assessment, proposal, phased deliverable, integrate, operate.

Every Consult engagement, assessment, advisory, implementation, or retainer, moves through the same shape.

01 · ASSESS

Independent assessment

A structured, evidenced read of the current posture, the systems, the regimes, and the gaps. Senior interviews, artefact review, and direct observation of workflow where it matters.

02 · PROPOSE

Proposal

A written proposal with a defined deliverable, timeline, and commercial structure. The senior leads who run the work are named in it.

03 · DELIVER

Phased deliverable

Work product the firm can act on: a scored report, remediation roadmap, architecture document, advisory deck, or considered opinion. For structured engagements, delivered in phases against a fixed scope. For advisory work, shaped around what the firm needs. Opinionated, with recommendations the team stands behind.

04 · INTEGRATE

Integrate

Recommendations carried into the firm's actual stack, integration patterns, hand-offs, and technical leadership maintained through delivery. The work is judged on what is production-ready.

05 · OPERATE

Operate

Where the firm wants continuity, the same senior leads carry forward, on retainer for ongoing input, or as the technical leadership into steady-state operation. The handover is part of the work.

How we differ

Operator credibility, senior throughout.

The fixed-income advisory market is dominated by Big-4 delivery shops, boutique strategy firms, and law-firm regulatory practices. Each carries a structural pull, towards programme duration, towards strategy decks that don't survive build, towards opinion that doesn't translate into code.

Ediphy Consult sits outside those models. Senior throughout, native to the stack, deliverable-led, and incentivised to hand over.

Next step

Speak to the team.

Every Consult engagement starts the same way, a thirty-minute call to understand the problem, assess the fit, and determine whether an engagement makes sense. No pre-packaged methodology pitch; a direct conversation with the senior leads who would run the work.
